Just wanted you to know what a great job Justin and the crew did today on the very tough job on the bougainvillea on our property. They ought to be commended for their work ethic and ingenuity to remove that mess! It was a pleasure having them work on our property, and if we need any future work of this nature we will not hesitate to call you.

Two years ago I received a couple of bids for extensive tree work to be done on my property. One bid was from Mother Earth Father Time and it was higher. The other bid was from another company. It was cheaper and the guy talked a “good” story. I went with the “good” story and cheaper bid.
When all was said and done the “good” story job wasn’t done properly and the health of the trees suffered greatly. I didn’t get what I expected and the trees looked terrible. Bottom line: “You get what you pay for!”
This year I hired Toby at Mother Earth Father Time Tree Service. I was very impressed with his professionalism, level of knowledge and integrity.
I requested that certain things be done with my trees (which could have meant more money in his pocket). He explained to me that what I was asking for was not advisable and would be bad for the health of the trees and he recommended something better.
The job was beautifully done and his crew was knowledgeable and very courteous. These guys were experts and I will hire them again next year!
I highly recommend them for a job well done!

Mother Earth Father Time Tree Service cares about Hawaii and the environment. We remove trees when it is absolutely necessary, if they are dangerous or diseased, etc. We also complete that cycle by planting trees, milling the wood for slabs or lumber, and create wood-chips and compost. Our goal is to recycle whatever we can whenever its possible!
This tree was an 85 foot Ironwood tree that was looming over someones house and parking area and kept breaking off limbs in high winds. We milled it up into 2×8 boards that will go into a solar drying kiln and then be milled into flooring.

Topping trees lead to the decline of the trees health and eventually it can die. Topping is the indiscriminate cutting of tree branches to stubs or lateral branches that are not large enough to assume the terminal role. Other names for topping include “heading,” “tipping,” “hat-racking,” and “rounding over.”
It is a common fallacy that trees in Hawaii can survive the worst butchering that you can give them and they will always return. People assume that if the tree comes back to life and it is green that it is a healthy tree.
The truth is that a tree can appear to look healthy to the untrained eye and it can really be in a state of decline. It is just like a person that can have a disease and appear normal and healthy. These pictures are further proof that topping trees leads to their demise. These were once beautiful and healthy trees that should have been properly trimmed by a Certified Arborist.
