Certified and Licensed?
Have you verified their contractors license is legit or if they even have one?
Are a few new tree companies emerging from the wastland of the recession licensed, educated, skilled, and safe certifed arborists? . Can you trust their work and care? Word on the streets is that they are not legit, yet we continue to see them at high profile jobs looking really unprofessional (spiking trees that should not be spiked, using improper pruning practices, using improper and unsafe techniques, and on and on). Even some of the older backyard companies are continuing to milk that same old illegitimate game.
I have asked a few of them if they are licensed ( I will not name names) and they have lied to my face and said they were. I checked up on them to know they are fibbing and you can also go to the DCCA’s website. This will allow you to plug in their contractors license number(our number is : category-ct, number- 25995) and make sure they are a current and actively licensed contractor. If they are not licensed and you hire them and they get hurt, hurt anyone else, or damage you property; legally you will be liable and they will not. It is really not worth saving a few bucks hiring unlicensed and unskilled guys and taking such a huge risk.
Protect your most valuable assets. Hire a licensed contractor for there skills and your peace of mind.
